Rebecca Miller LPCC-S, CSAT, DARTT

Rebecca obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling from Cincinnati Christian University in 2008 and is credentialed in the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervising designation (LPCC-S). Rebecca is co-owner of Counseling Alliance PLLC.

I believe that all individuals have the potential for healing and growth when the basic needs of significance and belonging are met. Having experienced my own healing journey, I am now passionate about coming alongside and holding the space for my clients as they do their work.”

Rebecca’s approach to counseling is integrative, considering the unique needs and preferences of each client. She is a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), with primary focus on treatment of partner betrayal, and holds certification in Developmental and Relational Trauma (DARTT). Rebecca is EMDR trained and has advanced training in Psychodrama. In working with trauma, she believes healing is within the experience of talking “to” the trauma rather than talking “about” the trauma.

On a personal note, Rebecca enjoys discovering ways to deepen connection with her sweetheart of 43 years. And she treasures the moments spent with her sons and grandchildren. Although she describes herself as a bit of a wanderlust, she enjoys being home with her menagerie of goats, alpacas, and chickens.

Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). As a CSAT, Rebecca 's focus is working with partners and spouses who have been impacted by the trauma of sexual betrayal. Believing that those who are in a relationship with someone with problematic sexual behaviors often experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress, Rebecca seeks to provide the highest quality of care for partners in a supportive and compassionate environment.

Developmental and Relational Trauma Therapist (DARTT). The effects of relational trauma experienced during childhood can often be difficult to recognize in adulthood, especially when the adverse experiences were covert such as abandonment, love-withholding, and enmeshment. Holding certification as a DARTT, Rebecca is qualified to treat adult dysfunctional behaviors by focusing on healing the 5 Core principles as described by Pia Mellody: self-esteem (loving the self), boundaries (protecting the self), reality (creating and knowing the self), needs and wants (taking care of the self), moderation (containing the self).

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Rebecca has received advanced training in EMDR Therapy and is qualified to utilize EMDR treatment. EMDR is a treatment approach that has been demonstrated to be highly effective in alleviating symptoms of distress associated with traumatic memories.
